Southgate defends Rice after fan criticism
England manager Gareth Southgate has defended Declan Rice after the midfielder was criticised for his performance in the 0-0 draw with Denmark. Rice was making his first start for England and was replaced by Jordan Henderson in the second half. Southgate said that Rice is a "young player" and that he is "still learning". He also said that Rice is a "very good player" and that he has a "bright future".
